Hello,
I had a acer aspire 5742g for one year. The specs are:

CPU: Intel Core i5-460M
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 420M 1G
RAM: 4GB
HDD: 640GB

I mostly play games like MaxPayne 3, GTA4, COD MW3 and all new . Also i am a DJ and sometimes i use laptop in club. I decided to change the cpu from i5-460M to i7-740QM . Is it worth it? I have the i7-740QM for 100$. Also i would like to extend ram, but idk what is the maximum for the motherboard. I guess it should be at least 8gb.

Here is the compare:

And yeah, is it even possible to change GPU on this laptop? If yes, then where i can buy better one? Sorry for my english, i am from Poland.

Thanks in advice ;)

98 percent of laptops cannot replace the gpu, and even if you can they generally are only very small incremental ones that would not be worth your money by now. The laptop supports up to 8 gigs of ram and the processor upgrade is probably worth it, as is the memory upgrade.

I did a quick bench search on that processor and the improvement is roughly 30 percent, but that's in raw numbers so don't expect to see exactly that, however if it was me i would probably do it.
