1 hour webcam recording only shows 1 second scroll bar?

Hi People,

So I made a recording of myself in the kitchen from my laptop using Free2x.
After I finished recording it and checked the file folder, the video only showed a 1 second duration.
When I opened it (I use GOM player), the scroll bar only showed 1 second, but after the 1 second elapsed, the video continues to play. I just can't skip it, using arrow keys or scroll bar.
I tried to open it using Avidemux video editor, but over there it only shows and plays the 1 second.
Further info:
Laptop: Dell XPS13
OS: Win 10 64 bit
Please help me find a fix?

I have had this happen, I THINK it is caused by the programs not closing the file correctly, so the correct size arent appended as the last section is corrupted.

Sorry, I dont know of any main stream program that can correct this; possibly a video editor suite could record from the original and terminate the file just before it became corrupted.

From free2x.com website:

"Free2x Webcam Recorder: Support Windows 8/7/Vista/XP"

No mention of Windows 10 so it may not be fully compatible.
Try installing it in Compatibility Mode.

Or look for some better webcam software - - not just the free stuff.

Try converting your recording with eg Handbrake, you might be able to "repair" it that way.
