1 yr old Samsung Laptop suddenly stalls when typing, and curser jumps to another location.

My one yr old Samsung laptop is getting senile.
When typing, it stalls, then the curser slips to another location. I then have to move it back to re-start typing, then after 2-3 letters, it does it again. Just in the past few days.
No virus, per Staples tech ( where I bought it)

It might be a virus that the anti-virus can't detect. Have you ever spilled something on the keyboard or the mouse?

Have you tried disabling the touchpad and using a mouse instead (if you aren't already).

You could try using a USB keyboard. If it works then, it's probably a problem with the keyboard in your laptop. If it still doesn't work, it could possibly be a virus or some other software issue.

The usual comment in this case is that you're resting your palm on the touchpad.

USB keyboard will fix that, plus any possible issues from spills (though they don't usually move the cursor).
