Not here, nor was it advertised as HD.

Paradoxically, most real events are highly improbable.

If it were, you would have laughed even harder at the fake science and
toy cars. The "climax" of the San Fancisco Bridge collapsing
delivered more fake cars and firetrucks being destroyed than a 1970
Godzilla movie.

It was in SD.

I surfed channel and watched the last 15 minutes of last night
segment. The story was very stupid with absolutely no scientific
sense. The special effects like the crumbling golden gate bridge were
fun to watch but I just hope those scary scenes wouldn't start an
exodus from the golden state.

The specialist said the entire West coast would sink to the Pacific.
That is ridiculous, if a 10.5 occurs, San Jose may align with San
Franciso because the fault line moves northwest, not down to the
ocean. Another stupid idea was to use a nuclear explosion to fuse the
fault line. It is like sealing the anus to treat a diarrhea. It is
just plain silly.

BTW who was the moron that come up with this plot. 🙂

You expect Hollywood screenwriters to have a scientific background? The
producer of this mini-series movie already admitted they did not use any
onset scientific advisors or technical specialists in
seismology.........

On the Monday show, the whole evacuation and the emergency make-shift
hospital was on top of the fault line. When earthquake occured,
everyone fell into the crack. I thought evacuation means moving away
from danger. Only the moron moves everyone on top of the faultline.
That was not even scientific sense, that was common sense the
screenwriters were lacking. This movie should be get the stupidest of
the decade award.

There's an awful lot of that going around these days. At least years ago
the black and white movies often used REAL morse code when they had
shipboard radio installations.

There's nothing more annoying than to hear a meaningless jumble of dots and
dashes which it would have cost just a few dollars to make real.

Who put the evacuation in Barstow anyway? I thought Barstow was near the
Mohave Desert. I opened my Atlas to check. It had the MD marked to the NW
and to the SE of Barstow. Why didn't they take them to Vegas! Why would
they evacuate folks from near Redding to Barstow, when they could go to
Reno?

And that scene above the area after the bomb went off in San Bernadino. It
showed the Kern River. That River is way north flowing out the Sierras into
the San Joaquin Valley. And by the way, how much open space is there around
a fault line to swallow a river. With teutonic plates mashing each other,
any caves would be crushed (IMOHO).

As an after thought, what happened to sea level, after a quarter of
California disppeared into the sea? FYI, altitude at Barstow is (or was)
2101 feet.

I, for one, am glad they didn't waste HD dollars on this POS.

The sad thing is that we all watched this stupid movie, swelling to it
as we watched. To the network, it was a success as far as rating is
concerned when they effectively kept the audience to look for the next
stupid plot. This may eventually become a cult movie which the
audience use as a laughing stock.
