You may want to reconsider that. If the commie loving left get away with this Nazi stuff at airports they already said they want it to move into other areas. Before you know it you will be strip searched to enter your local Mall.
The left always preaches freedom but are the ones who always are the first to try and take away your freedoms.

This really doesn't make us that much safer since anyone who was determined enough will find a way to get around these. It would probably be a much better idea to hire on more Air Marshals and have them on every flight to deter people.

now, the naked scanner thing CAN be argued enough to make it merely a bad thing you have to live with, images of it being posted on the internet CAN NOT be argued into any sort beneficial state, some backroom guard looking at my grayscale naked body is annoying yes, the fact that this could find its way onto the internet in ANY WAY makes me rather angry.
@ReggieRay: one of the reasons he wrote 1984 is because he thought that was the way it nearly was recall this was around wwII, from his perspective they where looking down a slippery slope paved good intentions

Bush was a communist? Damned...

Patriot act, warrant-less wire tapping, do I need to keep on going?

I got a problem with scanners it's a waste of fucking money. When you could simply have dogs by the metal detectors (which are also known to be a lot more accurate then the scanners).

And as far as the pat down they say it must be same sex. I'd be damned if I let some prick pat down my daughter guy or girl. It's simply retarded.

don't have any problems with the scanners other than perhaps $ cost vs reward. Some of the comments above are completely ridiculous ? Affect your career? Those people that lost their jobs were people that posted their drunken pictures on facebook of partying at 2 am and then going to work the next day while having their boss friended. You say it is an invasion of your freedom ? Flying on an airplane to get to places in hours instead of days is not a constitutionally guaranteed right... you can drive there and not get scanned... In some countries people don't even have the right to travel anywhere. The scanners now don't even have a way of associating the scans with your name... so what if they store the images, if though it isn't guaranteed that they are storing them in the first place. Like with everything in life, you want to do something cool, you have to pay a certain price... you are so worried about the scans, drive or walk or ride your bike.... or take the train (and the crappy stock that goes with it)

The bottom line is that the machines are not safe, no amount of radiation is perfectly safe, and there hasn't been sufficient testing done with these machines either. I refuse to subject myself to the possible risks involved, because I am a frequent flyer. It is a violation of my privacy and possibly a danger to my health and well being.

As far as the grope downs, they are unconstitutional and against the law. The only reason why they are taking these pat downs to this level is to get flyers to simply choose the scan instead. The machines themselves are making millions of dollars for the corporations involved, and therefore it is unlikely that we will see them go away soon.

My concern is this, what's next? If this Christmas holiday someone smuggles a bomb in their anal cavity, are we all then going to be subject to anal probing? I'm sorry, but we need to draw the line in sound NOW, not later. The more we put up with this garbage the harder it will be down the road.

[citation][nom]duk3[/nom]For 5 seconds I thought you meant the band, and then I remembered Rush Limbaugh.[/citation]

lmao, I thought he meant the band too.

Mark Twain said: "Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

Right now, we're giving up a lot of essential liberties, IMO

I still don't see how a X-Ray Body Scan machine is more effective then a good bomb sniffing dog.

A dog is impartial to profiling, age, sex. They are friendly and can get the job done 100x as fast.

Just my $0.02

[citation][nom]jaysbob[/nom]I feel people are too prudish about these sorts of things. If it were a high resolution photograph I might be more leery; but these are no more exiting than pictures in an anatomy book. Everybody's got a body and private parts, whats the big deal if somebody sees a lumpy mostly indistinguishable scan of it.but I guess the real issue is that if we start allowing them so subject us to this, theres no telling what's next. But the slippery slope argument is never very well founded.[/citation]

Are you in the U.S? Prudish? Lets post some armed guards in hour household, like the Brits did hundreds of years ago. You will be forced to provide them quarters, and yet not be compensated. You have no opinion on this per your government.
Since you obviously care not about your freedoms, you should not have a problem with this?

A coworker found a vid of a security agent having no difficulty getting a bomb past an airport scanner.
For my part, I would sincerely hope that all of our intelligence agents are specifically trained to do so.

The point being, this is all for show. It is nothing but a big game for the parasites and other powers-that-be, and it is only getting worse. We've already made some plans for this year, but unless and until serious positive changes to undo this BS take place, this will be the last pleasure flight I expect my wife and I to ever take.

I don't know about you guys but the feds are increasingly using x-ray machines on the public, how much is too much? If they say you get low doses and it should not be a problem, what about the people that have had 20 x-ray/ radiation test at a hospitals?

A little here a little there will snowball over time and then what? every one will have cancer and all these radiation based diseases, we'll be walking zombies just falling apart!

your comment is about 50% true...the body is very robust and is able to handle a lot more than we will ever immagine...doctors don't even know how 90% of our brain even works.

This is defeated entirely when a body cavity is used to store the material in question so the question is moot as of 5 minutes ago.

Indeed.
