Hey!

Here's a great option in the $1,000 range (http://www.amazon.com/Acer-V7-582PG-7657-15-6-Inch-Touchscreen-Ultrabook/dp/B00K2O4QPY/ref=sr_1_5?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=undefined&sr=1-5&keywords=acer+v7+laptop).

This laptop has the new Intel Core i7-4510U, which is made for battery efficiency. The advertised battery life is 6.5 hours, which is achievable based on the reviews and the processor.

It has an IPS HD 1920x1080p display with a 850M GTX. The 850M can handle most games in high settings and sometimes, ultra. The sounds perfect for your needs and I (almost) bought this laptop for myself. It's also incredibly thin and light, weighing at 4.85lbs.

I went for a MBP instead, but this would've been by second choice!

Let me know if you have any other questions! :)

P.S. I recommend adding a SSD to the mSATA slot to make this machine boot at incredible speeds. The 5400 RPM HDD is standard in most laptops, but it also bottlenecks load times for programs. Adding a SSD will make this.. PERFECT.

I like the Yoga. The x1 Carbon (Touch) is a little thinner and lighter, but isn't as versatile.

It seems like the Lenovo Y50 linked has better specs (processor, comes with SSD, better GPU) for about the same price. Only annoying thing is that the Y50 selected is currently not in stock, at least by Amazon (which would allow me to use Prime). Thoughts?

In stock, not eligible for Prime. So it is through a third party seller.
