I'd like to start taking pictures of things (such as my nephew, future sight seeing and anime conventions I plan to attend), however I got no camera. I also have jack crap for a budget.

Some cameras I have thought of...

Canon PowerShot A590 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16830120256
FUJIFILM FinePix J10 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16830122142
Nikon Coolpix P50 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16830113077
Nikon CoolPix L18 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16830113100

Ideally I would like to get away cheaper.
I would Ideally like to get away with something better (like an expensive DSLR, even though probably suck to lug around to events)
But I can't win them all.

Anyways if anyone can recommend something from the above, or something with a bigger bang for my buck. Please respond =D

Also, would it better if I waited a few weeks until that big after thanksgiving sale ?

A few online sellers have the Canon A590 for pretty close to $100, so that's what I'd recommend. If you're looking for something smaller, you can find the Canon SD750 and SD1100 for around $150.

My friend have the Finepix J10 and it takes pretty good pictures. The A590 is a good camera too but it's bulky compare to the J10. Both the SDxxxx models good too but 50% more than the Fuji but does not give 50% better performance.

Read some reviews, it'll help you narrow your pick but it may also come down to your personal choice.

Hi, not easy on a budget, is it!
I’ve got the Nikon Coolpix P50 digital camera and I must say that for the price it’s not bad. I started out with an Olympus FE 150 which is even cheaper (I think I got it for about $120) and the resolution is excellent but it is just sooooo slow. In the end I gave up and bought something a bit more expensive and it has been worth it. I think your right to wait for the sales – there’s bound to be a few bargins out there after the holidays. If you can’t wait at least check out some price comparators first on a couple of digital review sites as some retailers can really rip you off! If you shop around you should be able to get a decent digital camera at a reasonable price.
Hope that's of some help
