hi, my uncle just bought a philips LCD..dont know the model number..but know it cost alot of money and is one of the only tvs at the mo that boasts a 1080p resolution

i have a dell gaming laptop with a 7800GTX and DV out and runs a resolution of 1920x1200

Basically, we're all very excited about watching 1080p footage, even if its just 10 seconds of it.

a) Where can i get some high def footage?
b) once connected via a DVI cable, do i just play the footage using media player?
c) do i need any extra software?
d) is it gonna look impressive?

thanks

Nick

not too sure about where to get it. try sonies website as they are the one touting 1080p. i know microsoft has some 720p and 1080i so they might have some 1080p movies as well.

media player should be fine AFAIK and the quality should be just like playing a game at your native res. i ain't that excited as i have been playing at 1920 x 1200 for a few months so high def is old hat.

you can download the animation called " elephants dream" in torrentspy.com, that's 1080p resolution which lasts for about 10minutes.
