15.6"+ general use laptop

I'll be purchasing a laptop within the next couple months. I'd like a screen 15.6" or larger and my budget is under $1,000. I'll be using this laptop for everything from programming to mild gaming. I have a 250GB SSD I'm willing to put into it so low storage or 5400RPM won't affect me much.

The two that have caught my eye so far are the MSI GE70 Apache Pro and the ASUS N550JK-DS71T

Any comments about the ones mentioned above or new suggestions are highly appreciated

What do you mean by light gaming as both theses latops can play games well? I personally would go with the asus as they have good cooling and are very restraint in their noise. I have heard that some msi's are very noisy but I don't know personally. I have only an asus laptop and it is very good. Only the battery has seemed to be worn out after 2 years of intense use.

But to recommend a laptop, I will need to know what you mean by light gaming as these seem overkill.
