Hi,

May I ask what brand and laptop you would recommend for design work (must not be Apple)?

It needs to be WUXGA (1920x1200) with discrete graphics, atleast 4 gig ram and as light as possible as I travel a lot

Apple laptops are outside my price range.

I do not want to spend more then $1600 or so

Thanks,
Ami

I Love Thinkpads: Durable, do not overheat and reliable.

But the price is over $2000 (15.4" W500 Lenovo) for the spec I need for Adobe and my design work.

I need atleast 4 gig RAM, 320 GIG or more HD, and WUXGA resolution. It would also be nice to have a LED screen but that adds even more to the price.

Any recommendations?

I see the DELL Studio XPS 16 Laptop and the Studio 15 laptops have the specs but also hear of design issues from overheating to build quality issues. The overheating is the main issue and makes it unworkable on the lap...

Any recommendations of any other brands that come within the price range with 4 gig RAM, 320 GIG or more HD, and WUXGA resolution

Thanks,
Ami

Have you looked at the Dell XPS 16s Otho battery life is not that great but the CI7 will certianly get the job done in a hurry.
