2012 macbook ivy i7 vs 2015 macbook dual core i7 for editing film

I have the 2012 and I have a big project coming up, Im going to be editing a feature film. I need to know if my computer can handle it. Im editing 1080p raw.

I have a mid 2012 macbook pro 15" with 8GB its got a quad i7. Im thinking it should be ok.

but I still gotta ask, will the new intel graphics make up for the dual core? and the SSD has a hand in it as well i suspect.

Should I upgrade my current set up?

Can I get some ones 2 cents. Will the upgrade be worth it?

I would upgrade the HDD to an SSD and if possible, the RAM to 16GB - what software are you using to edit with?
