We're in a global recession right, barley making it out of it right? So wtf are people doing buying frivolous stuff like this for? Seriously, people who buy this stuff must be only associating themselves with the uber rich and not talking to reporters or anyone else who might have something to say about people living to such excess... Next someone will put a 24kt gold chain around the damned thing and wear it around their neck.

Hmm I guess I need to clarify my previous statement.

I posted "Gay" to a response that was completely phony.

To my surprise more people are posting about, "why would someone spend 5k on something when people are dieing in some remote part of the world?", which again I will say "Gay" People die everyday how I spend my money doesn't involve the world at all. I made it, I spend it.

Then there are actually people who think for some reason, "The Planet Earth is running out of resources...", to that I would add are you just stupid. When scientist say we are depleting resources on a market scale, they are saying we could run out of oil in 300 years. 300 years would effect my great great grand kids.

Use your head people. Don't suck on the socialist tit!

I would have no problem dropping 5k on something if the product actually held value to me. I have spent 10k on a weekend in Vegas on rooms for me and my guests to sleep. Get some real world perspective people!

You are quite mistaken about pretty much all of the issues you brought up. "Resources" is a very loose term, and perhaps you need to navigate the UNICEF, UN, NATO and various respected university sites for research and papers on the depletion of natural resources, which isn't a "socialist" lie but a well documented fact. Fresh water is already a cause of major conflict in certain regions. I won't give you a lecture here, but try to be objective even if you don't want to agree. As for the "gay" term - that's just so grade 7 and time for you to use more fitting terms because I don't see the connection between happy, or homosexual to "completely phony".

[citation][nom]ukcal[/nom]It amazes me that there may actually be people who can afford items such as these, yet disasters, such as Haiti, for example, always need more and more donations just so people can get the basic necessities of life.[/citation]

Have YOU ever bought anything nice for yourself in your life? Because it amazes me that you might actually do that instead of giving the money to those less fortunate than you instead.

I find it hilarious that somehow, plating the thing in gold all of a sudden makes it a symbol of all that is wrong with the world.

Never mind the $4,500 HD Plasma screen, the $3,000 7.1 Surround set up, the $1,500 entertainment console, the $750,000 condo in Suburbia etc. etc. etc....

the thing is tacky as hell but c'mon now, let's not get carried away.

Haha - trolls... ya I guess but at least you got it in the end. Though no doubt you would know because only a closet cases have so much build up hatred for gays.

Now the question is..."will this gold plating actually enhance gaming?" From what we have gathered, their has been a economical erg to gold plate everything...with that said toilet paper maker Charmin has announced the "Limited Edition Gold Leaf Toilet Paper" which they state is septic safe. Now Ali with the weather...."IT's Gonna Rain!"

Why is everyone bringing up politics and less fortunate people? Why can't that imply to the people buying 70K dollar cars? Ok, a 5,000$ gold plated PS3, it's not like they are producing hundreds of thousands of these. One or two goons buying this crap won't help haiti or any of the less fortunate anymore than the rest of the world is helping them now.
