Have anyone got a fast system say 1Ghz and compare the same seti time using 256MB or 1536MB?

Just wanted to know how much improvement or none?

Best regards

We'll when I had win 2K installed on my 1.4 P4 with 512MB RAM it wasn't even utilizing half the memory. So if your planning on putting over a gig of memory in a system I really doubt Seti will utilize that much of it.

How fast do you do a unit on the P4 1.4GHz?

I had a unit on my Duron 600 @ 5hr00min (average is about 9hr30min on that computer, but it had an extraordinary peak of 680 (average below 200), could this be impacting the speed as well?

The 1.4 averages about 4-5 hours. Unless I'm playing a game for a while, In that case it takes a while longer. You don't even notice seti is running in the background while playing games though.

the seti client will only use about 14MB of memory (unless you run multiple instances of course). You could run 128Mb or 1Gb of memory and it will make no difference as long as the OTHER STUFF on your PC isn't causing it to page...
