My new laptop doesn't have a 3.5mm audio input port. I use Audacity to convert my old cassettes and vinyl records onto CDs. What adaptor do I need to input audio from my stereo into my laptop?
I have two USB ports, one HDMI and one miniature HDMI port. So, I need to get from a male 3.5mm into any of those input ports. Thanks for your help

You will need a USB soundcard with line level input like this one

It will affect the sound quality as you are using the built in analog to digital converter so get the best one you can afford.
Hope you are doing your rips in at least CD quality. You can always make mp3 copies if you need them for your phone or car.
