3.5mm jack directly to ps3?

I have a pair of headphones with a 3.5mm jack at the end. I'm trying to hook up a ps3 to my monitor (which has no ports at all, except for an hdmi and vga.) Is there any combination of adapters or anything at all I could get just audio out of my ps3. I have no possible connections to my monitor. All answers are appreciated.

Then you will need to convert the L/R Audio to 3.5mm Jack http://www.cablestogo.com/product-images/40422/600/40422a.jpg
Then a Female-Female 3.5mm http://img.misco.eu/resources/images/products//100/LDY/35/35535/35535_3_1600x1600.jpg

A straight L/R Female to 3.5mm female would be easier http://www.efilliate.com/images/prod_images/P4196a.jpg in the setup

Yeah my PS3 Audio is independent of my monitor, I don't use the HDMI audio, you can turn it off in the PS3 settings. I split my speakers to PC and PS3, just plug the splitter in what I need. My monitor I also you with the PC and PS3. One output is HDMI (PS3) other using DVI (PC).

- Connect AV Multi-Out to back of PS3

- Connect your headphones to the 3.5mm Jack
- Turn on PS3
- Navigate to Audio Settings
