[citation][nom]TechSavyNuff[/nom]@sundragonand for a tech savy person you would realize it has absolutely nothing to do with Samsung or Google and every thing to do with the carriers, Apple by-passes all this via using iTunes to bootstrap the updates to said device. Android has no such control and are in the most locked down by the carrier, even if Samsung wanted to they cant push an update without the carriers permission and the carriers are in no hurry to push updates cause it sells more new phonesas for the tech savy thing, IMHO if you cant root your phone then you got no good reason for owning a smartphone, what the bloody hell your going do with it, FB and play angry birds?[/citation]
Thanks for making my point:
Android not having control was Google's choice. This goes to open vs closed, but in the process of making it open it makes it more difficult to update...
If you are in the business to make money like Google and Apple, you would want your users to have the best possible experience so they tell their friends and come back.
I appreciate your opinion, but you aren't everyone's daddy. People want to have a smart phone and have the money and are making their choice. Either you adapt/make a better phone or you deserve to go out of business - it's Capitalism.
An analogy of you telling people they don't deserve to use a smart phone because they can't root it is like saying you can't drive a car if you can't open the hood and fix it. Not a good business model.
FB and Angry Birds are on Android store as well

As a matter of fact, they are making bank regardless of which phone the public decides to buy.
Android is a fantastic product, but it needs work. I've used 2.x all the way to 3.2 and it's not baked yet for tablets. Google needs to make manufacturers agree legally to update people's phones so you get the best experience.
