Same thing with halo 3.. Which I just found out a few days ago. Luckly I found 120gb on Amazon for 45$ (have to search through them, but you can find them) for the old xbox hdd. All you got to do is remove the hard drive from the case and put it in the newer xbox's.

[citation][nom]mikem_90[/nom]It costs a basic amount to make a brand new hard drive in the first place, since MS wants to have a proper supply chain, they need a drive that is new, being still made, and that they can still get for a good while.20gb drives haven't been made in ages. You might see ads for them online for cheap, but they'd have to buy new ones. The smallest might be around 80-160gb so you might average a cost ~$40 more. They used to be selling the consoles at a loss, $40 more is a bit harder to justify.[/citation]
I can buy a 16GB flash drive for near $16, thus it wouldn't have been hard to throw in 20GB flash storage instead of the original 4. At least enable users to take advantage of features in the NXE and copy games to the flash storage.

Co-op, too. I think Multi-player pertains to more than 2 players either all playing against each other or in teams but not all together.

Anybody who has bought a 4gb xbox slim or an old xbox arcade without the hard drive needs to have their face slapped.

No gamer in their right mind would ever do such a thing, and no consumer with half a brain cell should ever go for the 'cheap' version without doing their homework and be willing to put up with the consequences of going cheap.

"you get what you pay for" really does ring true in a lot of situations.

idiots...

Also, just because it bugs me. who said Pacifically? ... Pacifically!? It's not an ocean!! the word you're looking for is Specifically! Argh!

they coudl just add a bigger hardrive that is still mass porduced the reason they are not massproduced is becasue they have become so cheap that you cqan get a 1tb for £50 and a 2tb for £85

To the guy who suggested inkling as a replacement for inclination, perhaps "indication" would fit much better?

i.e. "but offered no indication as to how long it would be before it's fixed."

Microsoft is pretty much the dumbest company on the face of the planet. first why give your costomers less? they would come back for round three if u set the standard high on the second round, how about 60GB minimum? they would get more customers to download content and not shy away from games that require hard drives. second quality control on hardware red ring of death could have been avoided...

"Some multiplayer aspects of Halo: Reach require an Xbox 360 certified hard drive."

Stupid; because of the Arcade version of the Xbox, developers are supposed to ASSUME no HD is present at all when developing for the system. Stupid, idiotic move by Microsofts part.

This is why PC gaming is much better than console gaming. Not only is the PC platform more powerful and diverse all round. I don't need to worry if my PC has a HDD or not.

Wow, this is pretty unbliveable that they could not catch such a problem befor the release! How hard is it Microsoft to put the game into every console version and give all the game modes a try? Take a small group and let them all play for a day, and they get to have a little fun and you dont slap your customers(especially your flagship Halo fans!) in the face.

Can anyone say "Rushed to Market"?
