64 bit and 32 bit excel together on one machine

Hello,

I'm trying to set up my computer so that it can run both 64 bit and 32 bit Office (mainly Excel).

I need 64 bit because I work with fairly large spreadsheets, so being able to utilize more than 2gb of RAM makes a huge difference.

However, I also have a few addons I use occasionally that are only supported on 32 bit Excel.

I know setting up a VM will work, but I would prefer a simple method.

Someone mentioned I could install two different versions of Office (ie. 2013 and 2007) in different "bitness" on the same computer. Would anyone know more about that process?

If you have any other suggestions, please let me know.

Install one of them to a non-default install location. Should work fine.

If installing two different model versions (office 2010 and 2007 for example) it will install to different folders (OFFICE 14 and OFFICE 13 I believe). If they were the same model year then they would have to be installed to be manually installed to different directories.

I have had to use an older version of access for legacy support for some VBA coding and I did this with no problems.

Hmm, I have had office 2010 and office 2003 on a computer before with zero issues.

Might be an issue with 2013 now

The reply was to having both 32-bit and 64-bit installed simultaneously. This cannot be done. As long as both are either 32-bit or 64-bit you can have multiple versions installed, though they sometimes will fight.
