6950 Shader Unlock Question

Hey guys,

I am aware you cannot flash non-reference model 6950s to 6970s. Can you unlock JUST the shaders on non-reference cards? The I am looking at is:

Also, I am getting 2 cards. Will 2 6950s be powerful enough to play games (1920 x 1080)?

Unlocking is only the shaders, so if you can't, you're left with a "normal" 6950 that is still mighty powerful.

However, even a single 6950 is plenty for 1080P, 2 should max most out, given you have a marching CPU setup.

I am getting a 2500K Sandy Bridge 3.4 (I think). 8g RAM.
