6gb ddr3 Vs 4gb ddr3 dual channel

Actually I'm getting a free upgrade from 4GB to 6GB DDR3 1333MHz for my alien-ware. Can somebody please tell me whether 6GB single channel is better than 4GB dual channel or not?
