My TiVo was updated to 7.1b-01-2-240 last night. Anyone know what
changes were made from 7.1a?

I have no idea, but I think it's good news that they're still tweaking
version 7. Should make a lot of the folks here still experiencing some
inconveniences (i.e. slow menus mostly) happy. Anybody who was having
those problems get the update yet? Did it fix anything?

This is heavily talked about on the TCF

http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/index.php?

Go there, do some searching and do some reading.

Heh, good advice. Apparently the update *does* address some of the
pixelation and slow remote responses. But it doesn't apply to the newer
540 series boxes like mine (though I'm not experiencing those issues).
However they *are* apparently working on a seperate fix for those boxes.
(TCF is a *fount* of information ;-) ).

I wasn't really seeing any major problems. I saw menu slowdowns after
the daily download (while the data was being processed), but that was
usually during the night when I wasn't watching TV anyway. I did not
see the pixelization issues, so I don't know if there was any change.

Unfortunately, I have the pixilation problem on my 540, not my older box,
but it is good to see them working on the problem.

The other problem I have with the newer 540 is that the wireless transfer is
3x slower than my older Tivo. Tough to use TTG or do a transfer with that
one.
