[citation][nom]mchuf[/nom]Four reasons why I won't try IE9 beta.1) I don't do betas. I don't work for free.2) Firefox3) Opera4) Chrome[/citation]

so you have NEVER EVER used a beta version of chrome, ff or opera?!
do you know what "beta testing" means?! of course not! it's not microsoft's invention, every single software you are using have gone through alpha and beta testing phases. may be you should read page 469 of "Software Engineering" by Dr. Roger S. Pressman ! then (may be) you will understand what "beta testing" means!

like i said yesterday, some people think being against Microsoft means they know something about Software! thank you for proving my point!

[citation][nom]stormyg[/nom]One reason not to install IE9:Opera... Why have hamburgers, when Opera offers steak?[/citation]
Very scientific, well done...
Anyone else with any stupid comments?

I like it when people complain about IE security when they leave, by default, the pop-up blocker set to medium and the Privacy area set to medium, not medium-high.

Well done.

Always remember, if PEOPLE DIDN'T visit pron, wares and naff music rip sites, they wouldn't get infected.

Blah, blah, blah.
That is and always will be one of the worst comments in the known universe.
TURD!

Care to offer the reason why without either lying or looking stupid?

The OOOH and AAAhs of this article was.... amusing. Tear off tabs?! OMG, Opera has been doing that for quite a number of years. FireFox, its a rather new feature.

Page 1, Cleaner? REally? wait till the add-ons start getting attached like in IE 6~8... then what?

The tabs are pretty crappy on IE7, 8 and even 9. The screen shot shows 9 tabs... that are HALF the size of MY tabs on Opera with 10 of them. Also, at a glance, which TAB is yours? You have green tabs, yellow tabs, clear tabs and grey tabs. Stick a screen shot of Opera 10.6x up here and you'd go.. ie9, oh.. blah whatever.

what do you mean by "which tab is yours"?! tabs are grouped. the tabs with same colour are related to each other. "clear" tabs are new tabs that has not been opened by other tabs, you have opened a new blank tab and entered your address. is it so hard to digest?!!!

fanboyism blinds people!

[citation][nom]kikireeki[/nom]If it has no add-ons then good luck competing with the rivals![/citation]

no sir. it does have add-ons. where did you get that idea? :-B

Maybe from IE 1,2,3,4,5,6,7.

Although I have IE8 but I barely noticed!

And how many tabs are normally related to each other, and in what way?

Having multi-colored of red, blue, green, etc tabs is still messy.
Opera's a lot more clear about which tabs have not been viewed, but isn't exactly the best looking indictor, perhaps the only oddball looking feature... but it does work.

IE9 is a step in the right direction, compared the mess that is IE7~8.

Still not expecting much of IE9 once most people are using it.

you are looking at it in a wrong way. the tabs with the same color are in one group: yellow tab number 1 WAS a single tab originally, for example tomshardware.com, then you have opened some links from this page in new tabs, so they are in the same group, they are all related to tomshardware.com ... so that's why they are in the same group!

what is IE8 problem exactly?! why it is a "mess"?! I've been an IE user since Win98 and I'm not ignorant about software and computers, I'm a 3rd year Software Engineer student. I cant see the "mess" you are pointing at!! what is it exactly?!

btw, I remeber using Opera version 5, 6 and 7 on Win98 and ME. I didnt like opera mainly because of the ADS on the upper right corner of the window!!!!!!! ADS in my browser?! no thanks!

The problem with IE8 is it's not compatible with very many sites is it! IE7 was the last Microsoft browser that actually worked... more or less. On that basis alone, IE9 will probably disappoint!
FF still rules!

I will try it. With software, there is rarely an outright right or wrong. It is all personal preference. I like Firefox. I *hated* Chrome. Safari was bleh. Maybe this is better, maybe it is not.

If you have a strong opinion about a product without trying it out, you are no more than sheeple. You are worse off than technologically challenged people. Ignorance is their excuse, what is yours?

If you knew anything about websites you would know most of them are edsigned to work on IE, since most of the useres have IE as default web browser. kthxbai
