This kid it will be one of the future rich IT geeks. I's the man!

As for his\her opinions......Ouch! These words recall to my memory a few words of one of my Italian friends: "Bears are not useful animals, that is the reason of their extermination in Central an Western Europe. They are just useless,at max they make some damages."!!!!!???? Everybody is free to think at whatever wants.....

bad thing about childhood prodigy's... they are so technically smart but become very emotionally unstable and unhappy individuals... All work and no play...

video games are good and it helps us escape real life for a few hours at a time the same way movies do but in a much better way. that's why games are created, hello!!! so this 9 year old spends 10 hours on a computer? doing what? wait there is more porn to be downloaded, lol.

I love gaming too, but this kid is right, gaming is a big waste of time and really doesn't contribute much to the development of the human race.

Just think of the human races potential if we spent all of our useless gaming time trying to solve real problems like the "unification theory" involving quantum theory, or discover how to harness fusion power, or find out the missing elements of an atom, or ... real important stuff to help the human race solve much or what life is.

Sorry, but getting an MCSE doesn't make anyone a genius, regardless of age.

"Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (or MCSE) is one of the best-known and premiere Microsoft certification for Windows Server NT4, 2000 or 2003. It qualifies an individual as being able to analyze the business requirements for information systems solutions, and design and implement the infrastructure required. Certification is available for the Windows Server 2003 technology, and was previously offered in Windows Server 2000 and Windows NT 4.0."

He's not programming, designing or engineering anything. All this shows are how ridiculously easy and overrated IT industry certs are. All we have here is a 9 year old Geek Squad employee.

He has an MCSE, you have a 9 year old Geek Squad employee, not a genius. He's not engineering or programming anything. He's assembling and building systems and networks.

Thats true that Gaming is waste of time from productive point of view, but it allows you to relax, communicate with people you normally never have chance to meet, even develop some of your skills.

Life is just too short to spent 8h a day working, 8 hours sleeping and another 8h doing just productive tasks. I doubt person can develop and keep mental sanity if he dont spent also some time relaxing his mind and body.

Personally I think watching TV is more waste of time then gaming as you mostly spent plenty of time just watching ads or stuff that you dont really like.

lol bit off a stuff up there, through out the article the prodigy is referred to as "He" but in the picture its quite clearly a girl.

but anyway theres heaps of people like this in the IT world, their idea of a relaxing night in is reading a IT book & studying

"A Macedonian telecommunications company is helping"....
Yes, like Alexander the.. Makedofski comment of a oldest Tom's Hardware article. 😛ppPpppPpppPppPpp

Funny, after reading this article's title I thought, "Yeah, well I think football's a waste of time, but that won't stop anyone from playing it!" Then I read the article. Ironic how this kid likes football.

Which brings me to my next two points:
* Stop posting "news" articles about opinions. It's not NEWS!
* Everyone has their own opinions, and some 9 year old wiz kid isn't going to change mine without a damn good reason. Now if the kid figured out how to end computer viruses for good, then I'd listen.

I shared his perception for a time of not playing PC games at all.
In fact, I stopped some 6 years ago because I found most of them idiotic.

Recently I took up gaming, but in a highly selective manner by playing only those games that present a mental (intellectual) challenge and has an engaging story, because that's something I like.

Games can be beneficial in terms of developing motor skills and of course mental stimulation.

I wouldn't go around saying this child will have an abismal future simply because of the supposition he has no friends or that he'll turn into a social outcast (which people can become regardless of the circumstances ... depends on how they're wired, and theres nothing wrong even if they don't 'fit in' - in fact, I abhore the very idea).

While I use my laptop a lot of the time (sometime up to 16 hours per day, or more) predominantly for other things than games (such as Internet, 3d art and writing), I have to ask myself did he really take into consideration when he said 'they should gow out and make friends'?
I don't think he thought this one out too much (if it were indeed his own words to begin with) because that's a bit of an contradiction when compared to his own '4 hours per day' (sometimes 10) of computer use.

Socialization is an overglorified concept to begin with.
Not all of us are like that for one thing, and for the other, I personally detest company of numerous other human beings (but not all) for long periods of time (because I find a lot of them exhausting, childish, etc.).

Also, to those who are 'feeling bad' about themselves because of this kids acomplishments and age ... don't be.
It's a different time, and technology is much more accessible in comparison to when it was before, plus parents are coming to the slow realization that technology is our future.

Although honestly, footbal?
Not to be stereotypical, but I just hope he doesn't develop a nasty personality trait of other footbal fans and turn into an utter neanderthal at a game for example.
I never found that particular sport attractive, though I do other sports, such as running and some muscle exercises (mainly for my own body maintenance, life extension and health).

For god's sake people you taking this kid seriously, it is just a kid's opinion nothing more, moreover taking it so personal and for those who are talking crap about the MCSE I bet any of them can pass it lol it is funny how a guy was talking about that MCSE like if it was worth nothing while it is obvious he has no idea wut MCSE is, maybe he thought it was about installing a fresh copy of windows or formatting... Dude MCSE is more far than you can imagine I bet you know the Archeticture of DNS, DHCP, Active Directory and how many partitions there are in Active Directory or a kinda thing and how they work in the background.. well that was just an example, ooh Yea about Programming I thought programming is the lowest level in IT once ur used to write a code you will be fast as typing anything on your pc because I used to program and write codes until it became something normal like typing an email to a friend, now you are talking about Systems and their complexity as if it was an easy thing.. Dude I went to College, I am an MIS and then I attended to some Microsoft Courses MCP, MCTS, MCITP the new version of MCSE, and did 4 courses in Exchange, one in ISA. The point is with all the stupid brainwashing system which I call... I think you got it, did not you? well if you did not then I mean the stupid Educational system which I call "Brainwashing System" you easily pass while you are laying down with some chicks around and drinking beer during all those years instead of learning something really Useful anyway I never recieved useful information and never had informative lectures during all those years in college while in Microsoft courses it was so intensive and you gotta read a book about 1500 page every week so informative and really deep useful information other wise in college students never read anything, all they do is hang out with girls and drink beer and oh yea "Shag me I am horny" and lots of them have no idea why they are in college "It is a system get it, and we are slaves to it" Some of them are in college coz parents told them to go though, and some of them are in college to play the role of I KnowItAll and some of them are in college to show off actually if you have enough money to send your kids to a so-called reputable Uni then ur the only winner because thats our world unfortunately you are buying a "Trade Mark" not Education and thats what we call Capitalism... plus I don't care if you have stupid friends like you that hold MCSE and based on that you said Microsoft Certs is a joke! One more thing I could program even before I go to college I learned that by myself but when it comes to systems you never can do it on your own...

RK.

oh video games a waste so sys a 9 year old that spends 12 horus a day on a comp ... oh damn fuckit i am gonna quit school for game art design now ,b ecasue if it is a waste to paly games must also be a waste to make them ...wow i have wsted so much time trying to further myself in life with a video game design career i guess i should just go back to working at walmart and being a compelete losser with no hope for a future worth living let alone possibility of beigna ble to afford a wife and a kid . thank you 9 year old boy genius you have taken me off such a destructive path !!!

[citation][nom]allforone7[/nom]i reckon if he's gifted and he knows what he's doing...let him be a genius. all people are unique so don't try and tell him what he should or should not be.[/citation]

oh give me a break , you knwo how big of ahypocrit you just made yourself be ??? i eman seriously this little twerp is tellign folks they shouldnt paly video games .. the door swings both ways. i dotn care what this kid does , but he shouldnt be trying to tell others what to do either .,.. but doh there goes that circle of hypocrisy guess in this instance one cant really say any thing with out being a hypocrit LOL

[citation][nom]V8VENOM[/nom]I love gaming too, but this kid is right, gaming is a big waste of time and really doesn't contribute much to the development of the human race.Just think of the human races potential if we spent all of our useless gaming time trying to solve real problems like the "unification theory" involving quantum theory, or discover how to harness fusion power, or find out the missing elements of an atom, or ... real important stuff to help the human race solve much or what life is.[/citation]

well you know people are animals too , you don't see every dog trying to figure out how to open a door knob, or attempt to open their treat jars. but i have had a few that spent quite a time at it, at the same time i have many more dogs that jsut want to have funn and chase their own freaking tail ? does that make the other "thinking" dog's lifes more meaningful to the doggy race ??

in short what i'm saying is we can't all be einstiens and stephen hawkings. many of us just want to entertain our selves and live life. it isn't your place or mine to judge rather or not this or that person is more worthy of the human race as a whole. and i seriously doubt heaven , nirvana ect ect . is reserved only for the guys and gals out there that are inventing rockets . curring diseases , or just working on things like running HDTV signals through basic DSL.

Will say one thing for him...

today you get recognition when you work hard.

When I was at school, I once finished a whole Year of mathematics class in 3/4 of the 1st lesson!!!
(completed the whole book - was really excited and wanted to impress the teacher)

1stly I got detention and made to stand in the corner with head against the wall - she thought I was an idiot and wrote gibberish

I tried to tell her! But she wouldn't have it! You don't understand how Angry than made me!

Then on next lesson, I waited patiently knowing she would have had a chance to look over my work. She walked round returning work saying marks, came to my desk and quietly put my completed book on my desk and told me I no longer had to go to detention on Saturday - That was it, no apology... I didn't mind - got 84% for maths I had never even seen before at the time (there were good examples to learn from)

I expected to go the next year up or something, but Noooo
I was put into the corner Many Many times more for "disturbing the class" and expected to sit Quietly for the whole of the rest of the year!?!?!?!?!?!?

I ended up in the girls sewing class as punishment for the rest of the year for talking too much in class >_<

Was furious at first... then figure that was silly and jumped right in and found the fun in the sewing and was best at that too!

Still have all my needle work in a box somewhere LMAO 😀 😀

No wonder he hates gaming. he is using a netbook. I hope he has a proper computer somewhere.
