Why did they stop making the sidecar? Is that something to be said about
the future of C-Band digital? I currently have analog and love my dish, but
so many channels are going digital, I've really thought about getting the
sidecar. But if it's no longer available and the only other option is to
buy the 4DTV rec for $650, what do I do? Ebay has them for a pretty good
amount of money. Is there any plans on another sidecar type device that I
can hook up to my existing C-Band or what.

Thanks,
Mitchell

Motorola no longer does repairs of the 4dtv and my guess it wont be long
before the don't support it in any way. Buy one now. Also be careful if
buying a 4dtv, get the 422 model. I just bought a sidecar off ebay for $187.
When there were selling them one could be had for $100. I found a place on
the web that had them listed for $189 new, last week. Now there $300. There
is no plans that anybody knows of for anything else.

Wrong, when they were bundled with programming, you could get them for
$100.00 new. Only when a business was moving them off the selves, you
might have got one for $100.00.

Why do you say I'm wrong then in the same sentence say that you could? I
know you could because I got one for my uncle. I didn't ask why they were
$99 I just ordered it for him. No programming needed.
