A few questions about Directx12

Hey there guys! With the recent findings that Directx12 allows both Nvidia and AMD cards to work simultaneously on the same board and cpu. I was wondering if I paired my 960 with a much cheaper 380, would I need a board with two PCIx16 slots? I'm still new to PC building. Thanks all!

EDIT: Will I also need them to be running at x8 like most SLI or if my 960 is on x16 and the AMD on x4 or x8?

Nobody can really say for sure yet, as we haven't been able to test it with actual hardware. Theoretically you would be able to plug both cards into a PCIe x16 lane and each would be regulated down to X8, like current SLI or Crossfire configurations.

Not sure how it work yet, it still too early. just save the $ for now or get another 960 as it will be sure to work.
