"A Physical Network Adapter Is Not Installed" - MSI GE60 Apache Pro

Hey Guys

First of all let me apologise if this question has already been posted elsewhere here, although I was unable to find anyone with this exact problem. Also I apologise if this question should have gone into the "Wireless Networking" catagory, but I guess this could be considered in either catagory.

So, let me get on with the problem, I have owned the above laptop for around a year now, never had a problem before with connecting to any WiFi but tonight when starting it up I'm receving a message to say "A physical network adapter is not installed", so far I have tried opening the laptop up to reseat the adapter, checked the BIOS for any adapter options that could have possibly been changed somehow and also have uninstalled and re-installed the driver from MSI's website, all to no avail.

The reason for me posting here is (although I think it's pretty obvious, maybe I've missed something) but have I exhausted all options here and now must replace the adapter itself?

Any help or advice here would be greatly appreciated.

Under "other devices" is the USB controller, it's been like that since I clean installed Windows 7 on this laptop and hasn't caused any problems with any wireless connections previously. Here's a link to an updated screenshot if you want to take a look: http/imgur.com/RGwbCcQ

I've now ordered a new adapter as it looks more and more likely that it's dead unless you have any other ideas?

For anyone else facing this problem, if you have tried all of the above that I said I had already done and there are no problems in device manager, replacing the adaptor worked for me

you should check the connected cables with the WiFi adapter chip if you have opened your laptop. if all the connections seems ok then you should try universal driver pack solution it will install the missing drivers that may very from its original vendor but it might help.
if any of these don't get your problem solved then you should change your WiFi adapter.
