A piece of laptop's ribbon cable came out how to fix ?

Part of the cable came out and i have lost that piece.

It doesn't stop the laptop from functioning but the cable is a bit loose as it is thinner now, the problem is that if i travel and if the laptop moves too much then sometimes it doesn't power on and I have to push the cable inside and then it powers on.
How to fix this without replacing the cable ?
Is it safe to cut the upper part from the other cable inside the laptop and paste it to the one which is missing that piece or use an electrical tape instead ?

Why not just make a wedge out of paper to make that connection tighter.
(or tape it down so it can't move)

That is just a tab to assist in removing the cable from its socket. However, your tale indicates it also contributes (via its thickness) to keeping it fastened into the socket.

I suggest using a small piece of an adhesive tape (black vinyl electrical?) to bridge from the cable end over to the top of the socket. Hopefully that would keep it from sliding out due to vibrations. BUT do not do this if that is a high-temperature area. The adhesive could soften and "bleed" onto things as well as failing to hold.
