Will nvidia gtx 950M run modern games.. in med settings

Depends on the game and resolution. It's a lower mid-range video card, 960 would be better for mid-range.

950m can run games on 720p no problem
if u move to 1080p then u might wana consider reducing ur graphics settings around mid to low
