Accidentally turned off laptop during update, now it is just black

My Toshiba Satellite L775 was stuck at 15% complete configuration of a service pack update, I set it aside to wait, and my two year old came over and pushed the power button. When I turn it back on, it just goes straight to a black screen. I tried turning it on and pressing F8, but nothing happens. Anyone know what I should do?

Try putting in a Windows Disk and select repair.
IF still black screen, then
Try removing HDD and just see if you can boot to windows install - should giver error - NO HDD. At least that will indice that the BIOS was not bricked.

I tried the disk, didn't work. But, I took out the battery and put it back in and then it booted up and reverted the failed configuration. Thanks.
