Acer 5315 Fan Problems

I've recently acquired an old Acer 5315 laptop from a family member, but the fan makes a loud low pitched noise that sounds like a pillar drill when it gets up to full speed.

I've taken the fan apart to give it a good clean but the problem still persists. Besides buying a used fan off Ebay that potentially has the same problem, is there anything I can do to fix it? I've heard that you can grease it, but has anyone actually had any experience with this?

Technology wise, this is a pretty old laptop. the fan in that specific model is known to have issues. Either accept that it still cools the laptop and move on, or replace it. there is a program called acer_fancontrol that might assist. Aside from that, you should buy a new one, or ignore.
