Acer aspire 5515 touchpad not working after the power cable broke

I have an Acer Aspire 5515, the power cable went out and the battery ran down now my touchpad doesnt work. How can I fix this problem?

Check the settings in the BIOS screens just in case there's something about touchpad.

Also check Windows Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager and see if the touchpad is listed or yellow flagged.

It may just be a hardware issue unrelated to the power thing -- or it could be a driver problem.

Yes,i have tried the Fn & F7 keys but it showed that the mouse was engaged.
when i try to move the mouse by the touchpad it would try to move but doesnt,and some times it will jump all the way across the screen.

My touch pad went out after I had installled a regular mouse, I didn't even know it had happened. One time I forgot my mouse and had a frustrating night at school. I will still use my mouse at home but it is nice to have the touch pad when I need it. Thanks again.
