Acer Aspire 5755G Sound Only out One ear when Mic cable plugged in

Guys,

I am having issues with no sound out my right ear on 2 different headsets when both headphone & mic cables are inserted into laptop jacks

Headset plugged into just headphone jack - Sound out both ears
Mic plugged into mic jack - voice is heard by callers
headset plugged into headphone & mic into mic jack, sounds disappears from right ear.

Headset works no problem on someone else laptop both laptops are Windows 8.1

I have deleted the drivers, removed all sound related devices, and reinstalled....Still the same issue, as i said it was okay before going away for repair...Only thing stopping me from contacting Acer is the fact that both jacks on the laptop work fine seperately, just not at the same time.

Anyone have any thoughts?

does a 3.5mm to usb work? try one of those or a usb headset if you have one
