acer aspire 6930 blank screen on booting computer

Acer Aspire 6930 boots fine, but black screen, for a week the screen jumped, then went dim and now nothing, again the computer boots fine. Do i need to replace the whole screen or just the light inverter? It is a 2009 model i believe

Hi,

The problem may lie on the display itself. Do connect and external monitor and see if you'll get a display from it because if you do that means you'll need to replace the whole display itself. If you're comfortable opening your laptop you may want to check the ribbon cable first to see if it's seated properly into it's port.
