Acer aspire 7540g black screen

Laptop turns on cuzz power led goes onand i hear the fan spinning.
Aldry did the basic things up untill testing hdd and ram and are good. Also external monitor dont work.
I think it could be the gpu or the bios.
I wanna try bios update but its unclear how to do it with this laptop.
Dont know witch files i need to use and copy on usb. Can soneone give a good indeepth step by step guide to folow inorder to see the power led blinking so i know the bios is updating. Cheers

If you tried an external monitor the correct way, and it didn't work, but the laptop is on for sure, then your graphics card/GPU is probably the issue. Which means you may well have to replace the motherboard.

To be sure you tried the external monitor correctly, check what you did against the following...

1. Turn the laptop off (not sleep or hibernate but off).
2. Connect an external monitor to the laptop.
3. Turn on the external monitor.
4. Turn on the laptop.

NOTE: You may have to press an "external monitor" button. Could be the f4 button or a button with two monitors on it, for the external monitor to work.

Did that already and didnt work.
I could try to reflow the gpu chip? or is it worth buying a motherboard or just trow the thing away and buy a other laptop?

I have never tried to reflow one before so I can't answer on that one. If it would work or not.

Anyone else have a suggestion here?
