Acer Aspire M5-583P-6637 will not power on without AC charger

Acer Aspire M5-583P-6637 will not power on without AC charger.

I have pushed the battery reset button on the base without the charger attached. Not solved.
I have read about "flashing the BIOS" but I don't want to try it unless someone thinks it will work and has instructions for this specific model.

Sounds like your battery is broken. You should replace it. Don't bother with BIOS flashing as that won't do anything to help you.
