I've been on the market for a good gaming cross performance laptop that can handle Maya/C4D + Adobe for a while now. I have $2k budget, and I don't wanna go anywhere below a 2K IPS display laptop. I've had some good quotes so far... this seems or looked to be a good price to performance contentder, and it's a 4K display. Is it worth the buy or should I look else where?

You said 2k$ budget and that notebook is $1200 one ...

you can get far better gaming notebook with $2000 ... at least with GTX 980/970

be sure to Get one with IPS screen as well.

Not really great reviews. Plus, I'm hearing a lot of bad stuff from Lenovo customers. I'd like to be comfortable with any purchase above $1500 that I make, cuz I'll need it till 2017.

The laptop is good but you can get better laptop for 2k. For this price range, you should be looking at workstations as these will be more specialised for your tasks.
