Acer deleting characters and typed in data randomly.

🙁I have a new Acer laptop and the keyboard keeps randomly highlighting all the text I type and deleting it, and the cursor jumps back several characters at random. This happens in several programs, and even when I'm logging in. I'm using Windows 8 which was installed on the laptop when I bought it. Any suggestions?

Make sure you aren't touching the touchpad when you type.
