Acer external monitor connected to laptop not working

Hi I have an external acer 23'' monitor connected to my asus g75vw laptop. Everything was working fine until randomly my external monitor went black and now it won't turn back on. The power is plugged in, i reset everything, tried unplugging and replugging everything, for some reason it just went black and wont turn back on. I have the monitor connected to my laptop via a hdmi cable.

Try to go to the menu of the monitor. That way you will see if the problem is the monitor or your laptop.

I have the same problem with my Acer laptop using an HDMI cable to connect to an external monitor. This much I know it is not the monitor as when i connect a Toshiba laptop using the same HDMI cable and monitor, it connects instantly.
