Acer laptop, webcam stopped working

Hi all, I have an Acer Aspire TimelineX laptop with Windows 7. I don't use the webcam often, but I have used it in the past so I know that it did work. Because I use it so infrequently, I'm not sure when it stopped working, but when I try to use it now, regardless of the software, it does not work, except for a brief moment using Camtasia I did see a faint image of my face, but I wasn't able to record. Now I don't see anything but a black screen where the webcam screen is supposed to be.

I checked in the device manager, and under "Imaging Devices" I see 1.3M WebCam, and it shows that it is working. I tried updating the driver, but I get the message that I am using the most current driver.

Anyone have any idea what might be wrong?

Try uninstalling the drivers and then re-installing them. Otherwise, it's likely the camera died.
