So I tried to set my laptop back to a date earlier this week. It keep saying it was working but by the 6th hour I realized this wasn't right. I then had to just turn the computer off. Once I got it back on I got a COM+ system error and this is Program files \tablet\pen\pen_tablet.exe
I can't click on the okay button with my mouse or the touch surface.
I've tried F4, F10 etc. I have a DVD drive so I used the emergency boot disk I made when I got the computer but that does nothing even though it seems to be running.

I suggest you backup your data before re-installing/repairing windows, even when windows says your data will be safe I've found you will usually loose at least some of it (if not all!)

To get at your data in the machine, create a Linux Live CD (I recommend mint) that will boot in your PC to a windows like environment without making any changes to your hard drive/system then use its tools to copy your data elsewhere.

If you don't like that idea, physically remove the HDD and access it from another PC as an external.
