Solved! Acer laptop wont read recover disk

My computer crashed and went to a black screen with flashing curser. I ordered the system/recover disks and a USB CdRom but it won't read the disk...you can tell it is trying, but then it just goes to a black screen. I changed the in the Bios to read for USB CD....what am I doing wrong?

It doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong.
Can you read the that recovery disk in another computer/laptop?

What model of ACER do you have?

When you boot hit f12, then select your USB cdrom, and it should boot then.
