contact acer. most big manufacturers partition the hard drive including a system reserved partition to restore from

worst comes to worst if you have a virus on the partition you can download the version of windows you have install it you will have 30 days to activate with in those 30 days or even longer just call microsoft. Tell them what happen they will ask you for your cd key on the back of your laptop and give you a new cd key to activate your windows. I have done this many times for friends and for work computers. It only usually take 10 minutes on the phone with them since they have very good customer service.
