I recently bought an Acer Aspire E5-575G-53VG Laptop. Link. It comes with a SSD and an empty 2.5inch drive bay. I bought a 1TB HDD to put in, but I can't figure out how to secure it. There appears to be no way built into the laptop. I'd really like to add in extra storage. Can anyone help, there appears to be no tutorials anywhere.

That site just took me to the general acer store and not the specific kit. Do you have a name for the kit? Or better yet an item/part number?

If anyone is looking for this part 42.GDEN7.002 ACER won't ship outside the USA. I designed one on my 3d printer, I've got it in my laptop now and it secures the drive perfectly. Get in touch with me if interested.

That's super cool! I ordered something off of Amazon already but now I am also interested in trying to print one if you don't mind sharing the file.

Hello, I bought an Acer Aspire E5-575G-57D4 and will add a 2nd HDD but because I'm outside the USA they won't ship it to me, I've never printed anything in 3D but doing the part 42.GDEN7 would certainly be fun to do, If you could share the file I'd be deeply thankful for it

Just a quick random question since we're on the subject. I recently bought an E15 that has the empty HDD expansion slot. Without getting into too many specifics, if I add the second hard drive and use it strictly for archival storage and not for the OS or to run any programs, would a crash affect the rest of the computer? Currently the machine has a 256GB SSD that is really great. I just get tired of the inconvenience of having to carry around my 10 year archive on an external drive that could just reside inside the laptop without the hassle of a cord.
