Adding a preamp to a receiver with pre out amp in

want to add tube preamp with phono section to my hk3490 receiver. it has pre out and amp in. will this work? thanks

you can insert the preamp between pre out and power amp in, using RCA Y cords
or just connect the preamp to power amp in, and skip the HK preamp all together
