Question Affordable Laptop

I want a laptop to chat with friends and play games that aren't really demanding. (Ragnarok Online.)
I don't want to purchase a car, just a computer so the price should follow.

1_What is your budget? Anything between 300 and 750$, The lower the better, I guess.

2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? Anything goes, I don't want it to fit in my pocket neither do I want a home theater.

3_What screen resolution do you want? ?? No clue.

4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? ?? No Clue

5_How much battery life do you need? Something good, I like to play Games for extended periods of times and I heard having it plugged while playing makes it overheat too much.

6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?

7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? Play online games with almost no requirement. (Ragnarok Online, Maplestory ect.) While browsing internet and chating. I also enjoy music.

8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need? Nothing Fancy.

9_If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post the links to them. Anything goes.

10_How long do you want to keep your laptop? Long enough, a few years maybe.

11_What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ? Nothing Fancy, just enough to read CDs.

12_Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons. Anything, as long as the quality/price ratio is good.

13_What country do you live in? Canada.

14_Please tell us any additional information if needed. Still hesitating between a laptop and a Desktop, laptop seems more usefull tho. EDIT: Would LOVE to run on Windows 7. I hate XP because its ugly and I heard Vista doesn't exactly 'work miracles'
