Aiwa Surround Sound

My Aiwa stereo (Model #CX-NAJ70) has (2) optional surround sound inputs, but I'm not getting any sound from the Klipsch 2-way speakers I've plugged into the back of the stereo (when I'm watching a Blu-ray movie on my LG LED TV (Model #49LB5500). I purchased a Digital-to-Analog converter box that is connected to a TOSlink output from the TV and connected by L/R RCA cables to the video-in on the back of the Aiwa unit, but las, no sound from the Surround speakers. Any ideas?Thanks ahead of time.

Can't find the owners manual for the Aiwa online so I would suggest trying different surround modes. You are sending a stereo signal into the Aiwa so try all the modes to see which ones give you any surround sound. Should be a button on the remote.

Thanks for the reply - I looked carefully at the remote and unfortunately, no button exists. Would it be possible to "fix" the problem by purchasing an Analog to Digital converter then run this to a Digital Optical Audio To 5.1/2.1 Channel Stereo Analog RCA Converter to get the channels to separate?
