A half decent amp (which you should be using with Q701s) would fix both the bass and volume "issues".

You definitely need a headphone amp. I have a different pair of AKG's which suck when plugged in directly. I recommend the FiiO E6. It's cheap, portable, and does its job.

no offense toms should stick with hardware reviews, pointless review without using a decent amp/dac. ohhh and still doesn't matter u guys used a better amp/dac, you still suck big time reviewing headphones. as I said before just stick with hardware reviews.
