The 2017 Alcatel Idol 5S specs are disappointing considering how good the 2016 Alcatel Idol 4S was: 5.5" 1440p with the same great stereo speakers. Only drawback was the mid-tier Snapdragon 6xx chipset in the Idol 4S. I was hoping this year they would go major league, use Snapdragon 835, maybe add Qi wireless charging. THAT would compete very well with the likes of the ZTE Axon 7, OnePlus 5 -- and even LG G6, Samsung Galaxy 8.

NO, instead they downgraded, going to smaller display with 1080p resolution. VERY disappointing. They were so close to being a real competitor.

The Alcatel Idol 4S was 1440p AMOLED and was even VR certified. This Idol 5S is a demotion.
