alienware 17 have low performens

Hi i got a alienware 17 lap top and everytime i play a game its low fps and i cant have the highest settings on games. it custom built but all the stuff that i built it is really good and when i played borderlands the pre-sequel i couldnt have the higest settings and i had my computer on repair and stuff but its still the same..... i really wants help with this.... sorry for bad eng im very tierd :c

i have
video card: AMD Radeon R9 M290X
Cpu: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4710MQ CPU @ 2.50GHz
and 16 ram

You need to start off by giving us an idea of what configuration you are using. I am using an Alienware 17 as well, Intel 4710MQ, AMD 290x, 8GB ram, 1TB HD + 128GB SSD. Games run perfectly fine on here. So, how is yours set up?
