I was wondering what kind of difference would it make if i got the p8600 instead of the high end quad core cpu's. (Consider MFSX and Crysis)

I don't have the money to get a quad core processor this is my m17 setup what kind of fps will i get in games?

- Dual 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 3870
- Intel® Core™2 P8600 2.4GHz (3MB Cache, 1066MHz FSB)
- Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium (64-bit Edition) with Service Pack 1
- 2GB Dual Channel DDR3 SO-DIMM at 1066MHz – 2 x 1024MB
- 160GB 7,200RPM (8MB Cache) w/ Free Fall Protection

PS I will upgrade RAM to 4G and I will get more Hard Drive Space.

With all that said will this notebook suffer from the CPU?(in regards to FPS in Hardcore games)
- if so how much
How much of a difference in fps will i receive if i upgraded the CPU?

It depends on the game and the resolution. Higher resolutions tend to depend more on the Graphics card/s so the CPU won't be as big of a factor. Certain games like Flight Sims and RTS' tend to use up more CPU power. In your case, FSX would benefit from the Quad, but Crysis wouldn't as much.

Instead of AW M17 why dont u go for ASUS W90 ? it destorys the AW model and has a lower price.

But if u want to go with M17,a 2.4 dualcore CPU can handle games fine but not all,for example World in conflict/FSX depends much from a better CPU,as logan said it depedns on the game that u play.
